Cycling & Walking
Cycling is a healthy and enjoyable way to travel and brings big benefits to the environment. Fife has 300 miles (500 km) of cycle paths. Walking is important not just for leisure but in terms of transport choices too - it is not only our main choice for short trips but it's also the way we start and end the larger ones.
Harbours, Coasts & Flooding
Fife's ports, harbours and piers uses range from transporting goods and passengers to Europe to being a home for mixture of leisure users and local fishermen.
Parking
Fife Council owns and maintains 158 car parks, 31 of which charge a parking fee. We keep, and regularly update, a register of car parks that we own. We try to ensure that there are enough short-stay parking spaces, and quality Park and Ride facilities, to enable people to gain ready access to town centres. People parking inappropriately may be issued with a parking ticket, the Council is responsible for these and collects the payments.
