There are several ways in which to pay your Council Tax, Rent and other bills.

Direct debit

If you have a bank or building society account, you can pay your council bills by direct debit - a quick, easy and convenient way to pay.  Not only is this payment method the easiest, it also provides you with a guarantee of payment. You can choose to pay your council tax on either the 1st or 15th of each month.

If you would like to pay your council tax by direct debit please call us on the details below or download the direct debit mandate from this page and follow the instructions.

Services payable by direct debit include any recurring payments, for example:

  • Commercial lets
  • Commercial waste collection
  • Council housing rent
  • Council tax
  • Home care charges

  • Non-domestic rates.

Standing orders are similar to direct debit with the exception that:

  • New forms must be completed every time there is a change to payment details
  • There is no immediate money-back guarantee in the event of a bank error.

Post Office and PayPoint

There are around 250 PayPoint outlets across Fife that will now accept payment of Council bills:

  • You can pay your rent, garage charges and contents insurance with your payment card at any Post Office or PayPoint .
  • If your Council bill is barcoded, you can pay it at Post Offices and PayPoint outlets across Fife. Many PayPoint outlets are open from 7am to 10pm, seven days a week so you don't have to wait until the payment date to make your payment.
